And the part where Giga get knocked back was pretty short. Are his flying away frames the same as Bowser's, or are they the star KO ones?

They appear to be Giga's Star KO animations. Probably would be a bit until the bones are modified toward more of regular Bowser's helpless animations. I forget where I found that PSA, but if you like to have it, let me know and I'll PM you a download link for it.
