have long been a storm chaser and grew up wanting to chase trains and chase storms. In 2004 Virginia saw a number of disturbances from the left overs of tropical storms and or hurricanes pass through the area. This is one of 7 tornados I got a glimpse at during a 4 week period from August to September 2004. This is one of 3 tornados that tornados that came through this area in a short period of time. The second tornado featured in the next clip eventually split into two tornados and barreled it's way northbound across I-95 in route to a destruction path that stretched more then 40 miles and caused the weather forecasters at NWS LWX Sterling Virginia to take shelter. (Video #2 of 5)

  • Before anyone says it. Yes it's not an "obvious" tornado but it had been just moments before picking up and then dropping down again as you saw in video #1.
