Taken at the "Man In The Mountain" looking down at the Trans Canada Highway and the Humber River. Roughly half way between Corner Brook and Steady Brook / Marble Mountain.
Elevation approximately 900 ft.
It takes about two hours to get to this area from the parking lot in River Side Drive.
According to local legend, the Spanish buried a treasure on Shellbird Island in the Humber River.
If you look closely, you will see the face of an old man in a rock formation overlooking the island. "The Old Man In The Mountain" is said to be a marker for the treasure.
It is best viewed from the rest area provided just off the eastbound Trans Canada Highway, Exit #7 to Riverside Drive
