hi i just read the how u convert the 2950 now i know how to convert it lol so theres a jumper block on it nad move to it from p1 to p2 and 3 am i correct on this

thats the conflict... I see 4w isnt the best. it would be nice if noone went above 100ish. don't get me wrong, skip will get you around at 1watt too. but people who go out with too many watts noise up the bands with cheap amps.

my rci 2970 is converted but i dont remember how to get to that straight 40 ch read out how do u get to that?

move the J1 jumper on the back of the face from P1 and P2, over to P2 and P3.
press the lock button to get to CB readout, or press it again to get back to the VFO mode.
havent worked with one of these in a while, but i hope that info works for you!

i use a solarcon a-99 ground plain.
at this time i dident have the ground radials, and it was just a barefoot ranger 2950.
