People always say Buchanan was throwing punches after the bell so the low blow was fine, if Buchanan had won the fight with a late punch though it would have been a disgrace. It's quite sad to see someone as great as Duran win like that I think, specially to a good fighter like Buchanan. He was better than that I think so why end a fight so desperately? Duran-Buchanan II would have been a good fight but I doubt it woulda been as close as this one, Ken had already peaked before this fight IMO.

Duran only 21 here,Buchanan was 27 and had all the experience to his advantage.Like the announcer said,"I dont think I ever seen Ken is so much trouble in his career".Ken too much holding but Duran was hungry for glory and he got it.

This was one tough fight. Buchanan was a damned good fighter, but Duran was maybe the best LW ever.

I could never understand why Duran didn't give Buchanan a rematch. Duran fought everybody and never ducked anyone.
