@mmduclos you are exactaly right. The only way the clock would be stopped is if the GA player Intentionally smothered the player or the ball. The mechanics back then didn't stipulate a "hurry up" situation and dictated the officials keep the same pace all game. Fumble, Auburn has it, no call for piling on = don't stop the clock
