Infrared Webcam Controller

How to play games and/or controlling computer using infrared webcam and regular TV remote controller. Recorded with mobile phone.

Note: due to copyright issues, the audio was removed. The soundtrack used was "Basin Street Blues by Louis Armstrong" and was synchronized with video.

did you use any software to program the webcam and the controller to work on your computer?

I wrote a DLL for accessing webcam and used it in Game Maker for making the demo game.

The "black thing" on the front of the camera is just another lens than the original. I couldn't remove the infrared filter (painted in original lens), so I replaced the lens.

About the software... I just wrote a simple program that track the infrared ligth point, captured by webcam, and convert it to X,Y coordinates.
