In 1974, Samuel Byck attempted to assassinate Nixon. He hijacked an airliner DC-9, Delta Air Lines Flight 523 out of Baltimore-Washington International Airport scheduled to fly to Atlanta. He was planning to crash it into the White House to kill Nixon. The plane was rushed he was wounded and then he killed himself before capture.
