Francis Matthews was the voice of Captian Scarlet, as well as a number of other acting roles. He was also in a curious drama series called The Middlemen in the 1970s.
The street they are filming on is Stone Street and most of those shops have gone now, to be replaced with coffee shops, charity shops and more estate agents.
This is a great snapshot of Cranbrook in the 70's. It hasn't changed that much - lots of recognisible characters amongst the faces and Miles Travel has sadly only recently closed. I'm sure that is me driving down Stone Street in my white Saab 96!
Yay, good thing that i found one of the shows. It brings me memories when i watch it on Tv in Mexico, thanks to Televisa, i remembered that i was a 12 year old kid and i have to admit it, thanks to this program and Sesame Street (besides other programs), i´ve started to learn english.
Does anyone know the name or title of the song that´s on the intro. I would like it to get the complete version of this song to put it on my cellphone. Thanks in advance.
my parents bought the video sets to learn english (here in the states) but they then realized that this was British english not American english and put them away in the drawers. As a kid I did not have much entertainment choices and would watch the videos. I learned english when i was 6 yrs old to this. Now I am married to cute Brit. Coincidence?

Do the chavs still hang outside the Circle C supermarket? I hear the Prince of Wales and Duke of York pubs have shut down.

Interesting to see Mr Pittock the long retired Primary School headmaster in the greengrocers. Brought back memories.
