  • DC-6 and DC-7´s were some of the best propliners around.

  • Not only great music to our ears, but these were the most beautiful, aesthetically designed planes ever built.

My Dad took me on flights on DC-7s and -6s, and they were unforgettable. On one DC-7 flight about 1958, one engine had to be shut down shortly after takeoff from Houston Hobby Airport. It might have been an engine fire, but not sure. The reserve power from the other three engines was so adequate, you would never know one of them had been shut down. We landed safely for checkover.

  • I could stand there and listen to these planes be started and idled for as long as they had the fuel to run! SWEET music!

  • bem que estes aviões poderiam retornar a vida, mais com muita tecnologia para economizar combustivel. bons e velhos tempo, ja voei num deles

  • well, said.. and absolutly stunning!

  • Este avião terminou de ser fabricado, antes mesmo de eu nascer.

  • Belissimo som. Radidade. Parabéns :)
