Congradulations on your first attempt...very well done.
Unfortunately, this sim (much like all the RP sims in SL) are the personal playgrounds for the owners and their small collection of friends. I'm sure they want to come across as friendly and welcoming to visitors, but the truth of the matter is that a huge sign should be hung in all landing points with words painted in large red letters, "ROLEPLAYERS WANTED ONLY - ALL OTHERS NEED NOT BOTHER ENTERING." Sorry, but it's the truth.
