Caribbean Soprano Vellia Espeut joins Mazie in the kitchen to cook up a traditional Pepperpot Soup and delights us with the classic folk song Long Time Gal Me Neva See You.
No, The pepper pot is actually Jamaican. Hence using coconut milk. Jamaica was the highest exporters of coconuts and its milk at one time. The pepper pot was a loved dish by the British at the time of British Occupation. It is said in a book that i read that the pepper pot is as old as 1764 and most of those vegitables came from Africa with the slaves to Jamaica and so forth. But everyone please remember that it wasn't only Jamaica that had slaves and those same vegi's went to other places too.
