River Cow Orchestra is the only music group which has played at the Kansas City Fringe Festival since it's inception. When the festival began it was primarily theatrical productions and there were no venues for live music performance. River Cow Orchestra (then called Brother Iota) performed on the street (in the Crossroads district) in 100 degree July heat during the first two years of the festival. Thanks to Cheryl Kimmi, executive director for asking us back each year to perform at the Fringe. During the 2011 festival we performed at Fringe Central located at 1730 Broadway across the street from the new Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
Cal, you and the R.C.O. don't play music....Cuz, you give BIRTH to music! Music raw, true, honest, electric! Love the idea of it being FRESH every time.....how cool is that?! And what kinda genius can find that kind of synergy congruent within and flowing from each member? Do you guys finish each others sentences when you TALK, too?! Have a Pepsi on me, but make sure you drink it with a spoon, out of a colorful, metal glass...and don't spare the Windmill cookies, or Kitty Clover Chips, K?
