Sweet Surrender by Rob Birdwell

The title track song from the CD, Sweet Surrender, as composed and performed by Rob Birdwell. Rob is a jazz musician who plays and records with a variety of artists in the Pacific Northwest. His band projects include Bird From Mars, The Blowholes, Sideways Portal, and The Svens.

The Sweet Surrender collection of songs were performed rather extemporaneously - no real preparation other than recording a spur of the moment piano setting, then overdubbing the solo Flugelhorn part. This was the process Rob used on just about every track on the Sweet Surrender CD.
