I have volunteered at the Coalition. Many who present as homeless there do not receive assessments nor case managers. In fact, the vast majority do not, especially in the Men's Unit. While they may get shelter and food, little else from the Coalition helps them transition into long-term housing. Only a small percentage receive the benefits seen in this video. There are also extreme exaggerations on their website regarding volunteerism & #s. I was hostilely ejected when I tried to volunteer.

Doug, we agree we cant supply all the services our homeless men need. We also recognize much more is needed to help them return to self-sufficiency, and have been working with the City of Orlando and Orange County to establish a new Mens Service Center. Were happy to report that with their funding support, the Coalition will be constructing a facility that will offer case-managed services to these men. Meanwhile, well continue to offer the best we can with our current limited resources.

Any thoughts on what causes homelessness? I'd like to hear viewer input - especially your reaction to the clients presented in our video.
