Author of the $50 and up underground house book is building another eco house masterpiece! This is an above ground structure on top of a steep mountain ridge in north idaho. This may be the sixth eco house built on this property. Some of Oehler's eco structures are underground and some are underground-ish. This eco house is clearly above ground and just has a thick earthen roof.

  • Don't want to be on that ridgeline if there is a forest fire. Looks like this will turn into a smoking hole in the ground.

  • @tmgibs34 I think this may be covered in the forums. Apparently, these are very fireproof once complete.

  • The authorities will shut you down when ever they can. The banks don't like people not financing 200,000 - 500,000 dollar homes. God bless Mike but any revolution should be about the right to build your own home.

  • @tmgibs34 some people

  • @tmgibs34 obliterated in raging furnace

  • soooooooooo cool

  • Thank you for the video Paul! I would love to have something like this for a possible BOL or a camping trip location for my family and I. I think kids would love this.

  • Tha would be my psp - pot smoking paradise

  • tire walls are totally fire proof, load bearing and free! probably a pain in the ass to make tho!

  • Incredible ! I have vertigo so when you walked to the edge of the rim & shot downward I could feel myself lurch. OY! Love your vids. A dreamers dream. Thanks so much

  • I love seeing people build their own homes. I so want to do some thing like this one day. Get me some "raw" land that no one want so it is super cheap and then be able to experiment with different building methods.
