@cakelessxo She is correct. It's truer to the japanese pronunciation than say "yoi" or "yowee." The way I pronounce it is more like "yah-oy" and add a barely detected "i" at the end.

i pronounce it "yoi" because that's how i learned how to say it from my friends. although i do know that yaoi is the correct way to say it, i say yoi because it's what im used too. i do not correct ppl who say it differently than i do.i honestly dc, as long as we're talking about the same darn thing, what does it matter? i think it's like to-ma-to and to-mat-o, same word, different pronunciation. No matter how you say it, it's the same thing and either way, someone's getting fucked in the ass.
