I just got back, and recognised a couple of those places, I too loved the ids in Menari, sadly there was a death there the day before so the village was quite subdued. All our boys were from there and went to spend the evening with families.
I cant wait to go back again... but this time a few less photos and a lot more video! Thats my only regret!
im pretty sure the lady near the start was holding jap machineguns

when i did it rained for the whole time, of tour guide, Pam Chrystie, said it was the worst trek out of her 41 trips of doing it.
i did it 2 months ago, loved it sooo much! at 17 the best experience ever!
i did two weeks before the plane went down.
the best part was the villagers at Menari, their smiles! funny playing games with them.
n cannot forget the porters best blokes ever.

See the plane at 1.45 - gives an indication of the Kokoda strip when it's dry. It was pretty boggy when we were catching it...

DCXP, They are brilliant. They summit Everest once a year but this is their reliable income.
