@RJLeffmann The amount of recoil depends on who is firing it as much as the caliber of the firearm and the ammo being fired so it varies. I think a new shooter will experience more recoil movement just because they aren't prepared for it.

@martinskapa Well, I'm totally SIG-biased... I like an exposed hammer and I like the sights on my Sig way better than the sights on my friends Glock compact. I also like being able to take the gun apart without having to pull the trigger.

@RJLeffmann A 22 won't recoil much, but .380 on up will have more recoil than you could overcome with your grip. If your thinking about what you see in the movies...no bullet (blanks) = no recoil

yeah I know, my had not fired my gun in a long time, and I was busy working the camera, I didn't notice her grip..good thing she didn't get bit by the slide
