So you keep the dog in the fight zone. Does this somehow suggest the dog is a good worker or has strength or that it is just well trained? Every time it tried to go around the sheep (which would have been the appropriate thing to do) it was stopped. Every time it moved close enough to elicit a possible attack by the sheep (and a counter hit on the dog which would have elicited flight) it was stopped. So I guess it shows the dog is well trained and not allowed to work properly.
