Rin explains that technically, Saber is a normal Familiar and not a Servant anymore, thanks to how Shirō made her actually want to stay. Saber is OK with living in that era since she still got her reply by watching Shirō fighting Archer, the fight between past vs. future, Shirou vs his heroic self, much similar to looking into a mirror for Saber, which she learned that she should live a new life instead of trying to fix what happened in her past life.

Rin then says that supplying mana to Saber will be costly and Shirou promises to help her by "supplying" Rin with mana. Shirou recieves a humorous reaction from Rin, knowing what he's indicating.

If based on this logic, why saber couldn't stay in this era when she shot the grail? I mean she abandoned her wish to change her past and she is much more intimate with shirou in that route. So I don't understand why did she leave.

@JLKnight77 Well the way she learned things was different. In fate she stopped her wish because of Shirou's will and dedication and how changing the past will destroy meaning. In UBW Archer and Shiros fight was like looking a mirror for her. Past vs Future, Ideal vs Reality. Archer like her was unhappy with the path he took, he wished to end it just like she did. Archer was someone she could directly relate to. She was shocked at how a optimistic and idealistic person like shirou became Archer.

@Crisis7 Unlike Saber, Archer had little to no chance of changing his past, but he tried as long as it was a chance above zero. Shirou became twisted, embittered, and was destroyed by his ideal, yet still cling on it in a love and hate relationship. The fight with past and future and the past winning showed Saber the despite everything that happened, the path taken had meaning and goodness to it. Thus she gave up her wish of changing the past. Instead decided to look towards the future and live

@Crisis7 Saber and Shiro's relationship had a lot less of a rocky start compared to Fate. Shirou did not ask or criticize her wish, instead supported her without question. In response she gave him an unbreakable oath to support him. He also saved her numerous times without doing anything completely foolish like he did in fate. Shirou in UBW is lot less reckless compared to Fate and was more heroic. Because of that she loved him enough that she wanted to stay and watch over him.

@Crisis7 She had also wanted to make sure that Shirou did not become another Archer and instead become someone who was happy. Last but not least, Rin was a much more competent mage compared to Shirou, and with her ability was able to keep Saber in the world as long Shirou supported her. This ends my long lecture about why Saber stayed in UBW.

@JLKnight77 They couldn't Shiro didn't have the ability to keep Saber in the world. While Rin was much more competent mage than he was, so she was able to pull it off.
