Harlem Shake KSL Style

Salt Lake City newsroom does the Harlem Shake! In this version of the meme, KSL TV, KSL Newsradio and KSL-dot-com recreate the newsiest version of the Harlem Shake. The dance is initiate by Jay McFarland, host of the talk radio show The Browser. Jay's co-host, Amy Iverson, is wearing the red boa.

Harlem Shake is a popular style of hip hop dance and the title of a 2012 heavy bass instrumental track produced by Baauer. In February 2013, the song spawned a series of dance videos that begin with a masked individual doing the Harlem Shake alone in a group before suddenly cutting to a wild dance party featuring the entire group. Despite what the name suggests, the videos present a wide range of hip hop dances, including the Bernie, Twerking as well as improvisations. (via Know Your Meme).

I showed this video to my 3-year-old weeks ago and we had a good laugh. Yesterday she asked me if we could "watch the funny man dance." I had no idea what she was talking about. After some questions that led nowhere, I finally asked her if she could show me what the funny man danced like. It was clear to me then. She wanted to watch Ed Yeates do the Harlem Shake. L O L
