My shih tzu has a lot not and he never have a grooming his right now 9 month and i have to get a hair cut for him, should I cut all his hair or leave a liitle bit short.

@sandy3500us If he is matted they will hae to shave him You MUST keep your pup's hair tangle free. If you can't brush him daily and groom him every 3 or 4 weeks shave him and keep him short.

i have a 7 month shih-tzu i just got her and poor thing she was all matted :( so today i took her to get groomed ...but she;s gonna have to get bald can anyone tell me how long does it take to grow hair back if u know plz??? and every how often do i have to get her groomed ?? thank u :)

I have a Shih also. He came to me as a rescue dog. I groom and one day he came in to be groomed. Just one look in his eyes and I knew I had to have him. He has been with me for 4 yrs now. With being a groomer he does get short hair cuts. Just depends on how I'm feeling and what we have planned. If you don't have time to keep up on there brushing keep them short. It's better than having them matted. How would like to walk around with a head full of mats?!!! :) Mats hurt.

@maxnmajik I'm so glad you have a Shih Tzu baby of your own, arent they wonderful? I agree, matts hurt and if you can not brush them daily, or if you live in hot weather then keep their hair short so they are comfortable:)

i have a shih tzu, he is a boy. i love to shave him! i hate him with long hair mostly because i live in the desert and it get really hot and when i walk him he gets all dirty

Hi! I keep my Chloe's hair long as well with a cute little topknot! It looks so much cuter! Shaved hair takes away from their natural look.

Daisy has an gorgeous face! It's really not that hard to keep them in good shape. 10-15 minutes every day or two. Mine had to be clipped b/c her last owner wouldn't brush her. I'm looking forward to growing her hair out!

I have a shih tzu also and her name is Sugar lol I think they are beautiful dogs
