Ok people, probably gonna have people screaming at me about how it don't matter but all I say is this, I have been into computing since ZX Spectrums and if there is one piece of advice I can give you all it is DO NOT TOUCH THE CONTACTS WITH BARE HANDS!!! I had a friend that would hit my hand with a metal ruler every time I went to do this, it worked, I don't do it no more lol I have been in computer specialist shops and seen workers picking up strips of Ram by the contacts....fools!

you´re very bad cleaner!! you put too paste, very crazy!! and you don´t know use a screwdriver, hahahaha

Considering how cheap this model is now it's probably easier to just replace it if you've had it as long as I have (3-4 years+). I was wondering if I could repeat what I was seeing here til I saw the part about the hidden screws, replacing the paste, and how badly dust can build up where no air can or tweezers can reach.

@thomask1234567890 uhm yes when gaming i manualy ajusted it to 90% or else it would get way to hot XD
do you have to put new thermal paste if you're doing this? or can you just clean it and put it back together?
vazsas 1 month ago
@vazsas You should replace it because being over 100ºC constantly, most likely degrades the thermal paste after a while, imo.

Thanks for putting up the video. Once all the screws are removed, how hard should I have to pull for the heat sink to come off? It seems really stuck on mine and I'm worried about damaging something.

@bblouie It might be a bit hard especially if it is the first time you are doing it. But it's not like you have to rip it off. Make sure you have all the screws off and that you are pulling off the right part. Pull one side, then the other and check if it is having any effect.
