One the the most triumphant PPV's ever simply because of the Hollywood Vs Enigma build for over a year. This PPV put most Wrestlemanias to shame.

@sgauden02 I agree WCW completely blew this PPV. If Sting had won cleanly it would have put them over the moon and stopped WWF (who inch by inch was gaining in the rankings) from beating them. They had built this storyline since Fall Brawl 1996 when Sting walked out on the WCW wrestlers that didn't trust him. And 15 months later, they fuck up the finish to the match and they have a restart and then let Sting become champion only to strip him of the belt to beat Hogan two months later. Pathetic.

@gannon1op Well that was definately a terrible moment for WCW to, but this was WCW's finest hour. "The Biggest Match In History", and suddenly they decide to shoot themselves in the foot.

@Kozzy06 Well that was definately a stupid idea to. That cost WCW HUGE PPV seller. But Hogan VS Sting at Starrcade 97 was the called the BIGGEST MATCH IN HISTORY and is what Starcade 97 the most watched ppv of the year (maybe several years), and WCW blew it. After Starrcade, the Wolfpack and Goldberg brought the stock back up a little bit, but Goldberg's streak went on too long and WCW basically GAVE Hogan VS Goldberg away. But in my opinion, Starrcade 97 was the begining of the end for WCW.
