@sboudreaux27 As to my understanding, yes, sometimes during the fall of 1984. I know they were using it by the spring of 1985 for certain.

They were still using the original Cool Hand Luke theme at that point. No NewsSeries 2000 yet!

Bill Balleza was an anchor/reporter at KHOU from 1974 to 1980, when he joined KPRC.

Longest in North America as well, way ahead of Lloyd Robertson in the anchor chair on both CBC & CTV in Canada by four years, & Lloyd's about ready to retire next year.
