@121naimat the Taliban will not be defeated. The coalition forces in Afghanistan control a tiny fraction of the nation with the vast majority of the nation controlled by the Taliban. If you want to control the Taliban, bring them into the globalized world. The west is in need of opium for modern medication and Afghanistan is the largest grower. Purchase this commodity, monitor where the earnings are going, control arms shipments to afghanistan, etc. You cannot defeat an ideology militarily.

If the West is unwilling to do that, that will means that the USA and Pakistan have same objectives, and it will strengthen, the theory that Pakistan was created for achieving west objectives, like to confront India, eliminate Russia and now to achieve other objectives in the region through Pakistan military..
