Each installment of Ben's Tours brings you on a visit to a special place. This time join me as we ride Disney's Expedition Everest, winner of the 2006 Theme Park Insider Award for "World's Best New Theme Park Attraction." Disney Imagineering spent six years researching, designing and building the Expedition Everest ride, including many trips to the Himalayas. Was it worth it? Decide for yourself as we brave the Yeti and the twists and turns of 320 foot high Forbidden Mountain.

  • great vid but what's up with the Jurassic Park theme? I love that song but I didn't think it would be playing at Animal Kingdom of all places...

  • @Laae10 Well, it wasn't playing in Animal Kingdom... I added it in when I was editting the video together. Call it creative license ;-)

  • this actually looks a lot like thunder mountain.. is it pretty much the same?

  • @houndsofroses I think they are very similar. Although Expedition Everest does go backwards for a stretch, which I don't think Thunder Mountain does (that said, it's been a couple decades since I last rode Thunder Mountain and my memory might be bad)

  • are there alot of rollarcoasters at Disney ? Becus i like fast things.

  • @KickAzzNightHawk There are a couple of pretty good coasters, but Disney isn't really known for it's fast thrill rides...

  • @houndsofroses They are both themed to be runaway trains in mountainous terrain, but they are both quite different coasters, Expedition Everest is a lot bigger, goes about 50 MPH while Big Thunder might pick up about 30. EV has a 40 foot drop, and has the largest animatronic ever created by Disney though a shame because it has been out of service for quite a while but still there and yes the ride does go in reverse in pitch dark. A bit more thrilling than Big Thunder.

  • the jurassic park song belongs to universil .

  • Thunder mountain was gay this was epic, and the Hight is quit low they all are in America. One of the beat coasters I've been on

  • How tall do u have to b to go on it it looks AWESOME!!!!!!!!

  • @houndsofroses NO, not really similar at all. Everest is a much taller, faster coaster. You see a Yeti and for a bit, go backwards... great coaster but different experience that BTM. Themed differently and BTM doesn't have many steep drops. Thunder is probably a better first coaster for smaller kids. Both are fantastic.

  • @houndsofroses no, everest is taller and faster, and it goes backwards.

  • That ride was soooooo fun! That was probably the best rollercoaster I've been on in a long time.

  • @KickAzzNightHawk nope only 4 or 5
