This is simultaneously eerie and fragile. The guitar part is beautiful, flitting around in some strange drop D tuning. The harp was a master-stroke as well. To top it all, James Dean Bradfield has a powerful voice. One of the Manic's greatest slow songs!

The word 'epic' was created for this very tune.
Beautiful.

" People like to have this idea that 'i approach the microphone and I go to sing small black flowers, suddenly i breakdown in reams of tears.' It just doesn't happen like that at all, If I was gona be like that it would have been on The Holy Bible." -James Dean Bradfield

this is so beautiful

@calimaeochango its in open G tuning - same as 'this is yesterday' for anyone wanting to play either song. Thats why JDB often plays them back to back at concerts - no need to retune or change guitars.

This performance must be one of the reasons Everything must go sold so many copies. I mean: Manicfan or not, who could see this on tv and not rush to the store and pick up a copy?
Everything must go - timeless record.
