Also...what Turtle is referring to with the whole dead bird thing...early in their career, Slipknot had some strange things they did pre show. On one occasion, one of the nine found a dead bird and put it in a mason jar. The band would literally huff the fumes coming off the dead bird before going on stage.

To play Ozzfest, they have to make a public apology...But for what? I don't get it...What's wrong with wearing a Maiden shirt?

What happened...(furchmeister17 and anyone else who is wondering)...On the Ozzfest '05 tour, Maiden singer Bruce Dickenson bashed Ozzy on stage...then during the LA show (supposedly instigated by Sharon), someone literally egged Maiden on stage. Trivium backed Maiden by wearing t-shirts, covering their amps with the union jack flag, and playing "The Trooper" which pissed off the Ozzfest big-whigs...hence the ban.

1) Standing with Iron Maiden to the point of not playing Ozzfest anymore is completely awesome.

2) The fact that mere WEEKS after my friend and I decided to bring "rad" back into our regular vocabulary, Matt Heafy calls Slipknot "rad dudes" confirms that it IS, in fact, a choice word to say.

gotta give it up... i'm not a big fan of Trivium some of their tracks are realllly goood. just not into heafy's vocals and the backup vocals from the other dude. but, i like heafy's personality and how he was like, fuck this, Iron maiden is kick ass so lets wear all Maiden gear to show love. thats really cool of them, they don't need ozzfest
