Sedbergh's International Summer School 2010

We provide a concentrated three week course grounded in high-quality English tuition, English Language based activities and a full and varied extra-curricular programme. Our small class sizes (maximum of 15) and motivated and highly professional teachers allow real language progress to be made in a short space of time. Classes will be set according to ability to allow a solid grounding for those new to English and a really challenging experience for those who are more advanced. Our team of pastoral staff and British host students allow for an informal yet structured home-away- from-home where our students can work hard, play hard and make friends for life.

Daily routine includes:

• Full morning of English tuition, Monday to Friday.

• Unique afternoon programme of 'Practical English' where students have the opportunity to try drama, blogging, and magazine writing together with specialist lessons in 'English for Science' and 'English for Mathematics' -- both ideal preparation for students considering further academic study.

• Full evenings programme of entertainment, including swimming, tennis, basketball, music, games and cookery.

• Saturday and Sunday cultural trips to major cities and tourist sites of the UK such as the Lake District, York Minster, and Manchester United Football Club. Weekends will also afford the opportunity to experience rock climbing, kayaking and hill walking.
