  • Gorgeous, thank you. The only thing I would say is that I have found in teaching that if you tell people to elongate as though they are being lifted up by the head they tend to raise their chests and hollow their backs. Straight backs, wide through their shoulders and looking ahead seems to achieve the same without the tension...and the breathing. Breathing low helps a lot of novice riders sit the canter without the tension. You are a beautiful rider on a beautiful horse.

  • @1997HighLander Totally agree with Bellesweetie!! :)

Just start with the basics - walking around with no stirrups, then build up your confidence!! :)

  • @1997HighLander just do it. one day when you are schooling or hacking, take off your stirrups or flip them over the shoulders. you never know until you try! no stirrups is the best way to fix almost any problem.

  • I really want and need to know how to ride with out stirrups but a combination of me being scared to death and my instructor not teaching it I dont know what to do. I hate losing a stirrup and stiffen up straight away. I know you shouldn't do that but I can't help it. Any tips? Thanks.
