"For Hire" is a student documentary film on the alarming malfunction of the Auto Rickshaw system in Chennai. The city takes credit for it's corrupt auto drivers and exorbitant fares. Through this movie, I try to offer a basic perspective on why this situation is prevalent today in Chennai and if there is a scientific and social solution to it.

  • One of the best and most needed documentary. I always had complaints again Auto Rickshas in Chennai and now I also got some of their perspective and practical problems. You have created a valuable documentary.

Felt like watching a Indian version of documentary channel. I wish you good luck and keep 'em coming.

  • @raamr Thanks a lot. Very few ppl actually watch such documentaries but let me tell you that the praise I get for this is closer to my heart than the praise I get for my other works. That is because I worked my ass off to research on this subject and and come up with a narrative. Painting the facts is much tougher than writing a story.

  • yes already shared..btw my name is Siddharth n m an acquaintance of Karthik Lakshmanan

  • @chendu078 Alright, thanks for taking your time out and watching :)

  • @yessae I love documentaries and I vaguely understand that this must be a very tiring job. Ton of homework is necessary to really convince the audience and to keep them interested. Kudos. Great job. We need more of these documentaries on social issues and probably need a 24/7 channel as well.

Please share your blog or website. I would like to keep in touch with your works.

  • @MegaUtubian hey thanks a lot for the feedback. This is my toughest project to date, much tougher than my award winning short films. I am glad you liked it :) Do share it with as many people as possible, the message should spread !
