Sophia Ross sighed as she looked through the latest All Things Teen magazine. The celebrities all looked so happy and glamorous. "Someday," she though, "My picture will be in this magazine, and everyone in America will know who I am and wish they were my best friend."
Sophia slid off her bed and walked to the full-length mirror lined with pictures of her favorite actors and singers. She grabbed her brush from her desk and ran it through her long, honey-blond hair. She smiled as she admired herself in the mirror. "Yes, I could definitely be a celebrity, and a gorgeous one at that," she thought as she worked on her pout.

Later that night, Sophia and her younger sister, Meghan, stood by the kitchen sink washing the dishes. Their mother walked into the room with a knowing smile on her face; the kind of smile someone gets when they have good news they can't wait to share. "Meghan, I'll finish drying the dishes for you," she said as she walked over to the sink.
"Thanks!" called Meghan as she ran into the living room.
Sophia and her mom washed the dishes in silence for a few minutes; her mom still smiling, and Sophia casting curious glances every few seconds. Finally Sophia couldn't take it anymore. "So what's up, Mom?" The question was supposed to come out casual, but instead was fringed with excitement.
"Well," her mom began, "I know how much you want to act, so I set up an interview with a talent agency for you. Now, there's no promises you'll be accepted, or that they'll be able to get jobs for you, but I showed the talent scout your picture and he says you have real potential."
"Yes, YES!" Sophia squealed as the shocked look started to leave her face. "Oh, thank you, Mom, THANK YOU!" she said as she gave her mom a quick hug and a grin.
Sophia hurriedly washed the rest of the dishes and then ran upstairs to her room to think. "Wow, wow," she thought. "I can't believe this!" She let out a small squeal as she plopped down onto her bed. She was so excited, she couldn't even think straight.
As she lay sprawled on her stomach looking at magazines, Sophia suddenly felt a small twinge of guilt in the back of her stomach. God. She had forgotten God. Sophia rolled onto her back and stared at the ceiling. "God," she whispered, "I'm so sorry. You brought me this audition, and I gave myself the credit. I've been so caught up in getting my big break, I forgot all about you! Sorry." Sophia lay there for a minute, just listening. She knew God had forgiven her, and that was enough. She turned off her light. "Night, God."
