Ice Cube

Everyone remembers yesterday's diesels had trouble starting in the cold. But Volkswagen claims its TDI Clean Diesels' direct injection technology allows them to start at temperatures down to -40°. To put them to the test, the company wheeled a new Golf TDI into a freezer to simulate the winter temperatures of Yakutsk, Siberia, the world's coldest city. More surprising than the results is that Volkswagen claims the TDI could have gone even colder, but was limited by safety concerns for those conducting the test.

I had my VW Transporter T4 2,5TDI (pretty old car) and it's started absolutely without any problem in bellow -32C. The key is: arctic fuel, good accumulator, and well maintained engine. And it will start/ignite without any glitch.

@erazman true man a live in Lima when we have a template weather and for me this is really impresives, but ws thinking exactly the same about to let the car overnigh at those kind of temperatures. BTW are -25 Celcius or Farenheit? I think are celcius right?

Well in siberia temp drops down to -50C. So shut up. Still a great car.
