The $700 Billion Dollar bailout of Wall Street was rejected today. Wall Street should NOT be looking for a Bailout, they should be seeking BAIL for their Criminal actions

So grave are the consequences of this decision, that the speaker of the house paused for several long minutes after the vote was taken before declaring it official. YEAH right, they tried to fix this vote and FAILED

  • You people have no idea what you're talking about. This is not about bailing out the rich, this is about the government buying assets that banks can't sell on the open market right now so that banks can resume regular activities like giving us mortgages and car loans and student loans. If this doesn't happen, it will be basically impossible to get any type of loan for a very very long time

  • GOOD live within your means then there is NO problem, these Banks have GAMBLED your money away, taken the Profits, now they have been stung they want you to pay their losses!

  • (Updates)

    * Meltdown fears abate as European shares gain

    * U.S. futures point to higher Wall Street open

    * Dollar gains against yen, euro

DONT live by the Politics of Fear bjammin

If ANY other business had behaved so coruptly as the Banks have they would be seeking Bail NOT a Bailout

  • Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and his top aides took credit for building a winning bailout coalition hours before the vote failed and stocks tanked.

Shortly before the vote, McCain had bragged about his involvement and mocked Sen. Barack Obama for staying on the sidelines.

I've never been afraid of stepping in to solve problems for the American people, and I'm not going to stop now, McCain told a rally in Columbus, Ohio.

Nice one John, but the vote was REJECTED, competent guy eh?

  • i wish someone had the whole waiting game to post just so we can see how they were trying to change the rules

  • I tried to grab it but it failed download, BBC has started using some blocking stuff on their streams, HOWVER it was at least 15 minutes after time ran out and they were quite open about the need to change the minds of the people who had already voted. I thought it was quite shameful, it would not have happend if thy had got a yes vote would it?

WHERE is the Democracy in action?

  • The biggest reason they did not pass it is because the bill included that the CEO's would not be getting a big chunk of it! Guess McCain and Bush are whining about it, oh well Bush got us in this mess so he can keep whining! Obama08!

  • i watched that sorry spectacle on tv. and what was to be a 15 minute vote, turned out to last almost 1 hour. i know that ellen tauscher was probably forced to extend time, but it did the opposite affect in gaining 5 votes for the anti side. she should do that more often. WE WON round one. and we must put pressure on congress and the senate to do that again, and again if necessary.

  • It is a mere count of People Debts, unless they (FED and Corporations) at least try to bring some prices down, first of all Oil and Real Estate, the similarities with USSR economies before the crash are just plain right.

  • Well if by printing you mean just producing numbers on a computer screen then yes, there is nothing more to back the system up. No amount of land, sea, ores, cattle, agriculture land or human productivity can pay that debt off, EVER. This what's happening is the way USSR had gone down, we had been there & done that. System collapse is eminent sooner or later.

  • thankyou your right if it had been yes she would have slamed that gable gaggle whatever down hard lol. great job american people

  • Three words:

    Community Reinvestment Act

Wiki this immediately. The dems got us into this mess by forcing the mortgage industry to give loans to the poor. Put these socialists in jail!
