I heard a version of this on the 5/28/09 Gospel Memories podcast and fell in love with the song. The production on that version was more 1950's MOR pop, solo with Doris' jazzy phrasing...RCA victor, 1957....Anyone have that?

The little I know about Doris Akers is that she wrote Sweet Sweet Spirit. I am glad to find this site and find a wonderful talent such as miss Akers. What a sweet voice.

She was a great writer. Her songs were so original and beautiful. She wrote great melodies that are fresh. One of my favorites that I haven't heard in YEARS is "I Sure Do Love The Lord How About You."
