This is a recording of ELO's record Time from my personal record collection. Enjoy the superb sound quality that can only be given through the medium that is vinyl!

  • It sounds as though you just took the cellophane off the thing and slid it out of the cover for the first time. :)

    Thanks!

No, no, thank you! Not too many people know and appreciate the superiority of vinyl anymore.

And make sure to stay tuned; I plan to upload the rest of the album soon!

  • Let me get this straight, you made a recording of this "superior" medium, and then sent it through Youtube's transcoder and expected it to keep any of the miniscule quality advantages it has over CD?

  • I HATE it when all the new digital providers (and you) seperate tracks that weren't MEANT to be seperated. I mean, Seargent Peppers and 1/2 of Abbey Road are blasphemously seperated all the time. VOMIT !~!

  • On the whole vinyl vs cd thing. CD's are 16bit. that means ~64k "steps" in the waveform. A record groove is 1mm wide, so a "step" of a digital cd is ~15nm wide on a record. Are you telling me the groove on a record player is accurate to 15nm?

  • Thanks so much for uploading this album--I have always loved it.

It's sort of a quaint early 80s conception of time-travel and the future, but therein lies its peculiar magic: it's like an alternate history rooted in an 80s perspective, a sort of spacetime tangent that never occurred and got left behind; but we can still take the voyage, thanks to this album, "backtracking" to the 80s as our starting point and then launching from there into the future.

  • frikin brilliant

  • ohhh this song was used as the openin for the japanese drama "DENSHA OTOKO" ! wow!

  • @MauldtheMan Well we can't all afford a Linn Sondek turntable either. Most of the belt drives you buy in the shops are C R A P even if you pay a lot of money.

  • I work in a small shop that sells vinyls, old videogames, movies, etc, and while sorting vinyls today I found this lying under a bunch of crap and I remembered all the songs from my childhood... Thanks for bringing this back to me!

  • thanks for the upload! been looking for an hd version for a long time. appreciate it.
