This is a super-8 film made by my father back in the mid-1960's in the village we lived in at the time: Orsett, in Essex. It includes some shots of me and my brother (5 and 3 respectively), my mother, grandfather and my mother's old nanny. This film may prove of some historical significance to people who know Essex and would be interested in it's history. The main shots are of the High Street, the house we lived in (The Finches), the village church and the pub - The Fox Hound. I visited the place earlier this year and didn't think it had changed all that much, apart from the shops and a few new houses!
lovely to see orsett in a bygone age, not like today's thurrock, which has changed , but not for the better.

Very nice scenes!Everywhere looks so nice without all the modern day clutter & eye-sores like road signs & yellow lines everywhere.Nice cars too!

Thanks. I was born in Orsett, my parents being from nearby Horndon and Corringham (though we actually lived in Basildon at that point, but Basildon Hospital hadn't been built).
