I see that the safety "Trolls" have made their way into this comment section. Thanks for the video.

'Staples are used on OSB every 8 to 12 in.. They diverge when going in and hold better than cleats. A layer of 30lb roof felt should be used under the floor. It provides a moisture barrier and sound deadner. Most important reason is termites. They hate the smell of it. When I sanded a floor with no felt underlay, it ,almost always had termite damage under the surface. (termite tunnels). With felt harldy ever. How do I know? 45 yrs installing and instructing Hpoe this helps you . good luck

I have OSB flooring like you, I am afraid of installing hardwood on it some people told me the nails won't hold, how did you find it? is it holding enough?
Thanks!

@ihabkal We try to place the nails so they go through to the floor joists.

why didn't you place a underlayment paper??? prior to laying down the wood floor

@Taxminia0311 We've installed several floors and sometimes use underlayment and sometimes not depending on time/budget/location, etc. From my experience I've learned that the underlayment is primarily for sound deafening. To be honest, I don't mind if my floors start squeaking in a few years.

@MrThewoodlover Amber did use eye and hearing protection on this floor installation. I'm not sure why she didn't suit up for this video clip? Floor nailers are extremely loud and can throw a nail occasionally.
