This tiny salt pig is made in the same way I make larger ones. Closing a bottle shape up is quite interesting when throwing, because the enclosed air supports the form when using a rib, meaning nice, fat, jolly shapes can be made. As it dries the enclosed air can even improve this jolly look, like puffed out cheeks.
I have to let the pig dry to cut the mouth out. This is one of the few items I have to come back to to finish - though I would love to try and be able to cut the mouth in a satisfactory way when the pot is still on the wheel - without a hot air gun, of course.
