Here's the story--
Nikki and Maddie two 17 year olds from chicago have been fans of Kathy since they were 13.
freshman year, Maddie and Nikki (14 at the time) went to Kathy griffins show in chicago. After the show, they had to wait for their parents to pick them up. While they were waiting, a crack addict offered them a cigarette, which they politely turned down. The crack addict then asked "you waitin' for Kathy?"...they were to weirded out to respond, so she continued. "She comes out the back, if you girls are in the mood for a treat, meeting a celebrity." Maddie and Nikki stupidly follow the crack addict into the alley. Then they realized that this was a prime oppurtunity to meet their inspiration and favorite celebrity Kathy. But--Kathy snuck out a different exit. Maddie and Nikki sulked for days.
Sophomore year Nikki and Maddie went to the show, and tried to wait again for Kathy to come out. No such luck. Again, they sulked for days.
Junior Year Kathy was not only doing a book signing, but also a show. Maddie and Nikki planned on attending the book signing, even if it was on a school night. Maddie ended up catching the Swine Flu. Nikki's parents did not want her to go out, with her cold, on a school night. So Nikki took drastic measures and put pillows under her sheets, stole her parents car keys and drove to Borders. Nikki stood by herself around Borders like a complete freak for an hour. The Borders staff kept glaring at her like she was going to pull out a gun. Finally Kathy's signing ended. No one except the Borders staff were around, so Nikki tried to approach Kathy, but was shut down by glares from the Borders employees. Nikki was so starstruck, she couldn't say anything. She went home, sobbed, and confessed to her parents what she had done. They laughed at her.
Now Nikki was filled with even more ambition. Her and Maddie staked out the Chicago Theatre for hours before following Kathy back to her hotel. As creepy as this sounds, they are merely loyal fans who wanted to meet their idol.
Nikki has also played Kathy's alma mater, Oak Park River Forest in field hockey multiple times. getting crushed each year.
