  • I really like the Oak Ridge Boys. My problem is with Gaither and his bunch. Gaither and Friends , to me, seem like just entertainers. It is hard to really believe they are genuine. The Oak Ridge Boy seem as if there is sincerety.

  • @Hemoxin its pretty obvious you havent met any of the gaithers or you never would even question. i on the other hand have and take it from someone who knows, they are very much genuine and God Bless them for helping lead so many to Christ.

  • Am I the only Gaither fan that is not happy about the inclusion of the Oaks? Bill has really lowered the par by bringing them back. They slapped Gospel music in the face 30yrs ago and we're supposed to just take them back because they're too old for Country and they don't want them anymore? Am I the only one who remembers they ran off Jim Hamill (a true gentleman) because he was too evangelistic? Folks there's no heart change here its all about money and they aren't getting mine!

  • thats the most unGodly attitude i've ever heard. Do you think God would throw in their face anything that may have happened 30 years ago? Lets face it, God wouldnt throw it in their face anything that may have happened YESTERDAY, if they are forgiven. So you shouldnt either. Dont pretend to know their hearts. Only God does. I am positive God would be very dissapointed with that comment

  • i belive but i dont belive inpushing someone .. that is just the opposite to how i have been raised in a relidgios churh. show me and us now that whure stronge

  • @hoover4000

    Agreed.

The countless souls who were brought to Christ by way of The Oak Ridge Boys in 1970 or so, have probably been exponentially increased by this time. They all count. All of the souls saved by those who were initially saved through the earlier years until now, has to add into the millions. Well done!!!

  • @hoover4000 Bravo. I liked your response so much that I had to look up your profile name, and saw you are 24yrs. Wow, it seems you've learned a lot at your age. Praise God for your wisdom and your willingness to speak up!

  • I grew up with Southern Gospel, Oak Ridge Boys, and The Stadler Brothers. I have seen videos of the Gaither Homecomings that have included the two bands. They both started off gospel and have come back to their roots. I believe that God will bless their music because if you raise up the name of Jesus, it will not go with out reward. No matter what you may feel about any of these groups, If they praise and exalt the name if Jesus, they are ok in my book.

  • Hoover4000, thank you so much for sharing these awesome videos.

  • @JoeBonsall I've listened to the Oak Ridge Boys for decades and love your music. This is the most beautiful rendition of "God Will Take Care of You" I've ever heard. Love and blessings to you and all the Oaks.

  • The Oak Ridge Boys sing this song so beautifully. Their singing is so heartfelt and it's obvious they love God. What can be more inspiring than singing about God to those who love him? Thank God for the Oak Ridge Boys. God Bless them always.

  • @jhorseman4 If you are going to bring up the past, Jim Hamill had some issues himself, too - remember him getting all "blessed" on stage, and waving his coat around, only to have his cigarettes fall out?

The point is, the grandeur and truth of these hymns abides regardless of past mistakes or present unfortunate realities of the performers.

  • I'm glad I rediscovered this beautiful old hymn. I'm going through tough times right now and this song literally brought me to tears and reminded me God is here for me.

  • @hoover4000 Exactly, If we don't believe in redemption, then why are we singing these songs? I'm sure God could have picked someone else that hadn't killed so many Christians, but on that Damascus road, God chose who later became the greatest Apostle of all ! We never know what God is up to with people, it's not up to us to 'give up' on them, God won't.
