9/11 was not a result of religion. It was the result of the U.S. occupying land they should have never been in. Look at the research of: Michael Scheuer, Professor Robert Pape, Chalmers Johnson...the list goes on.

What a wanker this interviewer is! He is not of sufficient intellect to conduct an interview of this type.... a waste of everybody's time, most of all, Dawkin's.

Altruism is a common animal phenomenon. Perhaps the sense of community for modern humans has expanded because of global interconnectedness and larger populations concentrations.

Dawkins hasn't found the correct answer imo. He should have said that people are charitable because they are rewarded to do so. The reward is the feeling you get from doing good and the acknowledgment from the person benefiting from it. People have lust and they are rewarded with intense pleasurable sensations. The bottom line is that people do things because of the reward from doing those things. Currently, my reward is to see how many people agree with me and gives me the thumbs up. :)

...:)
Oh my God, this interviewer is perhaps the biggest moron I have ever seen. He does a very poor job of making people of faith seem reasonable. If I had faith I would distance myself from dipshits like this...
