Chapter 5, Part 1

As I walked up the entrance of my house I can feel Emily breathing in deeply beside my shoulder, she had fallen asleep. I was now in the front steps of my house and I was reaching in my pocket for my keys to open the door. I guess you can say I was struggling because it wasn't easy holding a 2 year old in your arms while she was sleeping and the other hand reaching in your pocket. But then I suddenly hear tracks coming near, but I didn't bother turning to look who it was. I just kept searching for my keys.

"Need help?" said a sudden voice I heard that sounded somewhat familiar. Therefore, I turned to see who it was.
And it was that same Nick kid that said "hey" the day before. He had ridden his bike in front of the door, right next to me, and parked it still as he got off and stood in front of me.
"Um...sure," I replied, admitting that I really did needed the help.
"Gimme, I'll carry her," he offered.
"Alright," I replied back, giving him Emily gently so she won't wake up. However, as soon as I was passing him Emily, we were only a couple inches apart. I could just smell his scent, he smelled like...um... what is that place??? ...called...um...yeah... Abercrombie..ughh..I wasn't a fan of the store but he smelled good, I had to admit. Then I reached over to my pocket for the keys when suddenly the door swung open.

"Hey guys!" said a voice and I automatically knew it was Joe, "what you doing?" he asked in a singing voice. "Making out?" he said with a laugh.
"Eww, gross..."I answered back rapidly.
"Hey, Christine, what are you trying to say? What's wrong with my brother?" he questioned all foolishly.
"Um..." I replied. Now I was caught off-guard and I didn't know what to say.
"Just look at him," Joe said. I looked at Nick with a raised eyebrow and he just shrugged his shoulder. I bet he didn't know what his brother was trying to do either.
"He's cute," he said while pinching his cheeks, "smart," while placing his hand on his brother's shoulder, "ok, I guess he has long curls, but you know what? It can be cut," he said while ruffling through his hair. He then opened his arms and motioned at Nick. "See..Nick is a total lady's man."
"Good to know," I replied all confused while nodding my head, "But I guess I should be taking Emily in now," and then Nick gave me Emily and I said, "Thanks, Nick. Bye."
"Bye," he said back. And I walked in.

With Nick and Joe.
Nick: Joe!! What was that all about?
Joe: Dude!! I was helping you out with your girl.
Nick: My girl? I'm barely friends with her...
Joe: sure... so what were you doing here?
Nick: helping her out...she was having trouble opening the door while carrying her sister.
(They then started walking out Josh and Christine's house to their house.)
Joe: aww...that was so sweet of you..
Nick: Joe!! I'm being serious..
Joe: so am I.
Nick: sure...now I think you freaked her out, and now she wont talk to me again.
Joe: talk to you? At least you got more than what I got....I got one word...you got many phrases..
Nick: whatever..
(And both walked in to their house)
