Give up the tired 'addiction argument'. If you're spending 30+ hours a week staring like a zombie at a TV/computer you have a problem. Getting it the official title of "addiction" in the DSM IV isn't going to magically create solutions for the people being affected.
Giving credence to this argument lets people say "gaming doesn't fall under the classic definition of addiction, therefore there is no problem." Meanwhile kids are wasting their lives away.
I call bullshit on video game addiction. I can't speak for everyone, but I play games to have fun, see how far technology's come, have fun with friends, get away from all the serious shit in my life, and relax. Yes it can be competitive and addicting but i've yet to see women whoring themselves out to feed their gaming fix like they do for drugs, etc.
look i play games i don't over play them because i have control, but you can become an addict in just about everything, because it's something you like to do and its easy as well as expectable in society so every can do it without feeling bad

I don't get addicted to the games themselves but the awesome feeling it gives me when I own kids online.
Video game addiction is completely real!
I play RS - and I'm rarely doing anything that requires any other player to do it with. Basically, I could play RS offline.
Video game addiction - starts with the parents IMO
