  • The Belle of Louisville is one of the few remaining riverboats with a real whistle. It's rival, the Delta Queen, which also has a whistle and calliope is again being threatened for a second time in 37 years by the "Safety at Sea" law, which almost scrapped it in 1970. This should not happen to our national treasures.

  • Most beautiful whistle on the rivers today.

  • @acoustics101 The freakin' feds should leave the DQ alone and let her cruise where ever she wants...I miss the days when she came to Louisville...Stupid law.

  • Make shure to have your speakers cranked up as far as theyll go! its one of the most beautiful sounds in the world!

  • @acoustics101 Oberstar is now out of office....hopefully the Queen will return to the river soon and cease being a hotel.

  • I can tell it from the Delta Queen. This one has a lower pitch

  • 10 stars!!!

  • Beautiful sound:)

  • The Belle has a three-whistle chime, deep and magnificent. The Queen has a single-bell chime, 10" Lunkenheimer. I like the Queen's whistle the best! I was given free rein on the Belle's calliope to blow various RR whistle chords when I sailed on her. Kinda funny to hear a river boat blowing rule 14L's with 6-chime whistles!
