Great points, but as usual it doesn't matter to the followers. Anything you say that they don't agree with no matter how sound it is will be rejected and you'll be told that you don't understand or that you didn't research. It wouldn't matter if you even pointed to a page of the bible that supported your point because they will just put it into whatever context they want. Keep it up though I'm with you.

well, the real answer to people either going to heaven or hell is no one knows becuase it is left up to a higher authority. in my own faith zoroastranism people who go to hell stay there for a brief indifinite time to be purged of their sins before they can advance to the higher reality with GOD. The reason for prayer is mainly communication to ask for guidance or consolation.
