Back in 1990 my brother and I headed off to Chapeltown, Sheffield, to film the slow demolition of the three tower blocks.
We made three trips in all, between late January and early March.
I believe the blocks were built in 1964, so they never managed to last 30 years ; another gross waste of taxpayer money.
One of the demolition crew told us the blocks had only quite recently been refitted, so even MORE tax money down the drain, courtesy of Sheffield City Council.
The film was shot on a cheap 'Halina' super 8mm camera, with four 50ft reels being used in total.
Due to a poor auto-exposure on the camera, some of the footage has been left out, as it is quite indistinguishable.
any chance that you might hd diy telecine this film?

@longlivefilm Dunno about that, as the original film isn't really 'HD grade'.
It was shot on a fixed-focus Halina Super 8, albeit the model with the manual zoom.
Image quality is not great and the film itself had been stored in the loft for over a decade ( stupid brother-of-mine).
I have attempted to colour-correct and lighten/enhance detail, but it is swings and roundabouts doing that.
