Nice! The PMDG is a great aircraft.

The 737's A/P is set to control the speed to 250 KTS once the wheels are off the ground. Above 10000, the flight's on full A/P until the Top of Descent, where the A/P's set only to control the speed until 10000. From 10000 all the way to touchdown is hand-flown, including the throttles for situations requiring TOGA power.

Dont let Juan G. from the ramp at SMF touch your bags, he will steal anything even your dirty underwear.

I can't speak for Southwest, but I am very familiar with the CRJ, which doesn't have VNAV or LVL Change either. Usually when you climb out you follow the profile of 250 Knots, with the plane in speed mode, and then increase to 290 above 10000. On descent, usually the VS bug is used to control descent rate. I would think the 737 would be set in in a similar way.

Wrong airport buddy its KSMF not KSAC, you flew to the excecutive airport not the international airport
-

and also, how did you get the autothrottle to engage? on mine, the A/T PWRST light just comes on and it does not engage...what do you do to make it engage?
peteg913 4 years ago
Make sure you flip the autothrottles arming switch to on. Then set the speed and engage the autopilot.

so set A/T before you turn on A/P?
peteg913 4 years ago
Yes, flip that switch (Should be to the left of the speed select) then activate A/P.
